Researchers Worried about Tamil Nadu's Future TemperatureResearchers are talking about the sweltering future which they say will see a rise of three degrees in the temperature of Tamil Nadu.

According to the recent conclusions drawn by a team of researchers from the Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation Research (CCC&AR), Anna University, towards the end of this century, the temperatures will shockingly rise.

It's going to be hotter than ever by the end of this century, they claim.

The experts noticed from their calculations that the average day temperature in Tamil Nadu, which now stands at 32.9 degree Celsius, will go up by almost 3.1 degree Celsius by then. Along with Chennai's maximum temperature shoot up of 3.1 degree Celsius, the neighboring districts like Tiruvallur and Kancheepuram will also face a worse situation, as their temperatures are expected to increase by 3.4 degree Celsius.

"Studies show that Chennai's maximum temperature will increase by 0.9 degree Celsius and that of the neighboring districts by 1 degree Celsius over the next 30 years", explained Mr.  A.  Ramachandran, director of the centre, who led the team of researchers.

The presented projection model has also showcased the minimum temperature estimates in the State.  Presently Tamil Nadu has 23 degree Celsius as minimum temperature, experts believe that it will go up by 3.5 degree Celsius by the end of this century.
