Madhya Pradesh is preparing to welcome lions from Gir in style. It is working on to ensure that when they come it is found well prepared to receive them and take care of them in best possible manner. This is the reason that the state has got the services of international trainers to train its staff in handling and taking care of the big cat.

Latest reports suggest that the Madhya Pradesh government has flown in some well known big cat trainers to the state to train its officers and workers to actually take care of the new guests whose arrival is imminent following the Supreme Court ruling. Though fellow BJP government in Gujarat hasn't reacted to the diktat, reports suggest that the arrival of lions in the state is inevitable.

If and when Gujarat government actually decides to transfer the big cats from its Gir sanctuary as directed by the apex court, they will be brought to Madhya Pradesh's KunoPalpur wildlife sanctuary. The buzz at KunoPalpur wildlife sanctuary suggests that people there are expecting the arrival of lions very shortly. Latest reports coming from state capital Bhopal suggest that the Malysian trainers are also working on plan for conservation of the Asiatic lions using modern equipment.

Besides training of the staff, the state government is also working hard to improve the KunoPalpur wildlife sanctuary and make it more hospitable for the Gir lions. Reports suggest that trainers will also teach the MP staff ways to improve the habitat of the big cats, including augmenting of water sources, water regime development, eradication of weeds, development and restoration of grasslands. This will ensure that they actually find the place very hospitable and they will not have to struggle to survive in the new location.
