Christoph Niemann likely has two of the most-viewed artworks on display -- at least for today. The New York-based author and animator has a pair of Google Doodles hanging atop millions of browsers around the world. For those in the Northern Hemisphere, where June 21 marks the start of summer (or the summer solstice), you'll see swimmers in bathing caps bobbing through waves in the shape of the search engine's logo. Southern Hemisphere dwellers, who today enter winter, will see hands knitting a multi-colored mitten spelling out "Google." PHOTOS: Google Doodles of 2013 "My first Google Doodles are live. Happy first day of Summer (north) and Winter (south)," Niemann tweeted today. Born in Germany, Niemann is best known for writing and illustrating the New York Times blog Abstract Sunday. His work has also appeared on the covers of the New Yorker, Time and Wired. This isn't the first time the search giant has partnered with an artist for a doodle display. In 2011, to mark the start of the seasons Google commissioned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami to design two homepage doodles.
