International Ozone Day celebrated - Pakistan Observer

Wednesday, September 18, 2013 - Islamabad—International day of Ozone preservation was celebrated in all campuses of Roots International Schools.

Students spoke about the steps taken by the international governments on the preservation of ozone layer which is an important part of the atmosphere and helps us.

Primary Students were told what an ozone layer is and the importance of ozone layer in the atmosphere, how it protects us from the harmful rays of sun. The formation and circumstances of destruction of its molecules were taught through charts and posters.

Students were encouraged to participate in discussions about ozone layer and how it is quickly leading to the depletion. The roles of pollution, perfumes, deodorants and chloro-floro carbons in its depletion and were encouraged to reduce the usage to help in ozone preservation.

Students participated enthusiastically and sophisticatedly spoke about their knowledge on the global observance of this day, while highlighting the efforts of scientists who have struggled against ozone depletion. Students also commemorated and appreciated the research by scientists about Ozone. Discussions and speeches were held on this day and students were encouraged to promote awareness among the citizens on voluntary basis and start some campaigns for the ozone preservation. Roots international schools always emphasizes on the celebration of international days to spread awareness among its students about the universal importance and purpose of such celebrations.
