Scientists' Declared Cloudy Atmosphere Exists on Kepler-7b

According to a research published in the Astrophysical Journal Letters, cloudy atmosphere exists beyond our solar system.

Scientists were finding out the reasons by using NASA's Kepler and Spitzer space telescopes that how the clouds look like on the exoplanet, Kepler-7b. They discovered patchy clouds that exist on the exoplanet.

Kepler-7b is a sizzling Jupiter-like planet, which is quadrillions of miles away. High clouds in the west and the clear skies in the east are only responsible because of this exoplanet.

Brice-Olivier Demory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said: "By observing this planet with Spitzer and Kepler for more than three years, we were able to produce a very low-resolution 'map' of this giant, gaseous planet".

He said that large oceans or continents can be expected on this type of world, but some reflective signature of the clouds can be seen on this exoplanet.

Kepler-7b was already discovered by the scientists, three years ago. Scientists then find out a bright spot on the planet's western hemisphere by using the Kepler probe.

Spitzer's infrared observations were finally used by the scientists and they declared that the bright spot was only due to the reflected starlight than the internal heat.
