For most people in the country, it has become unlivable. So why not try a new planet. Mars One gets rousing response from India as 20,000 Indians are eager to settle on Red Planet

Economy is going down and there are reasons to believe that the beleaguered United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government at the center in New Delhi may lose elections next year. Indian rupee is becoming worth fewer cents and the finance minister is hiding behind others to not be questioned about issues confronting the Indian economy.

Till last year or even six months ago, most of the economists were laughing at China for its economic woes. They had never imagined that the well-set looking Indian economy may start losing so soon and the fall from grace will be so fast. Now with economy down the signs are all too visible. A latest report suggests that Indian capital's South Delhi has seen the price of apartment going down by as much as 20-25 percent in the last six months.

But while the economy is going down and India's economic boom seems on its way to burst, there is no lack of people wanting to go to the Mars and spend huge sums of money on it.

Ten percent of all the people who have applied to settle down on far away planet, Mars come from India. 20000 of a total of 200,000 people who have applied to settle down in Mars come from India.

I am sure half of the Indian population will apply for Green Card if norms for applying for US visa are reduced. Some people may say that the ration may be more. But I have put it at 50 percent people as the other half population of our country is illiterate and very poor and they have no time left to think of these things are working hard to earn their daily bread. Latest updates suggest that Mars One expects to put 10 four-member teams through intensive training by as early as 2015 and wants to send at least one team to proceed to Mars in 2023. But beware this is going to be just one way trip that will take as many as seven months to complete.
