| Published: 03rd September 2013 11:57 AM Last Updated: 03rd September 2013 11:57 AM The website for the 26th edition of the Kerala Science Congress was inaugurated by the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment executive vice-president V N Rajasekharan Pillai at Press Club here on Monday. The Science Congress will be held from January 28 to 31 next year at Kalpetta in Wayanad. Wayanad, being the land of mist-clad hill stations and abode of some of the oldest tribes in India, traditional knowledge is the special theme chosen for the Kerala Science Congress. The Congress is expected to be a platform for interlinking the research community and for expanding the knowledge base for the society in general. A national science exhibition will also be organised along with the Congress, where many of the leading science and technology establishments are expected to showcase their research and development activities. The broad subject areas for the science congress are mathematical sciences, physics, chemical sciences, earth and planetary sciences, engineering sciences and technology, materials science, plant sciences, animal sciences, microbiology and immunology, cell and biomolecular sciences, health sciences, agricultural sciences and forestry, science teaching and science education, regional science and science policy. The registration fee for the Science Congress is Rs 500. Bona fide students need to pay only half the amount. The last date for submission of summary of papers and registration is October 31 and the last date for submitting the full papers is November 10.
