Gaur dies at Bannerghatta Biological Park - Business Standard

A 10-year-old male gaur, figured on the list of threatened species died at the Bannerghatta Biological Park today, official said.

Visceral samples of the gaur had been collected and it would be sent for clinical examination to ascertain the reason of the animal's death, a statement released by the Park authorities said.

The gaur, also known as the Indian bison, is a native of South and Southeast Asia. It is considered vulnerable as per the International Union for Conservation of Nature's ('s) Red list of Threatened Species.
