VISAKHAPATNAM: Sky-gazers are in for a celestial treat as the crescent moon is set to occur in conjunction with Venus on July 10 and 11 and this spectacle can be viewed without a telescope from RK Beach, officials of the Planetary Society of India, AP chapter, said here on Tuesday. This celestial feat would be achieved on July 10 at 11.48 pm though the moon and Venus would be visible after sunset itself. "After sunset, one will have to look to the West to find the moon and a non-twinkling star-like object (Venus). The event will be best visible after sunset from 6.55 pm to 8.15 pm and Venus can be spotted just above to the right of the crescent moon. On July 11, Venus will be visible below the moon to its right," PSI AP chapter director and founder-secretary N Raghunandan Kumar said. The Planetary Society is organizing a viewing session of the celestial event specially for students and the interested public with the help of its Vizag zone coordinator from 6.30 pm at R K Beach on July 10, Kumar said, adding that those interested can visit the site www.ournewplanet.info to register for the session. via Science - Google News http://news.google.com/news/url?sa=t&fd=R&usg=AFQjCNHWgGYBiQxE9SdCfAAPP4LMxCduYg&url=http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/visakhapatnam/Spot-moon-Venus-conjunction-from-RK-Beach-today/articleshow/20994806.cms | |||
