Report by Odisha Diary bureau, Bhubaneswar: First lunar eclipse of this year visible in Odisha sky. It was the shortest duration of the lunar eclipses of this century.
The lunar eclipse, which started 3.47 pm and end at 7.16 pm today, partially visible in Odisha for just five minutes. According to local beliefs, consuming food is banned during the lunar eclipse. Cooking and consumption of food, therefore, is restricted from 3.47 till 7.16 pm.
In Bhubaneswar authorities of the Pathani Samant planetarium organized special show during the daytime for people to see this extra-terrestrial event. Keeping an eye on the eclipse, the administration has changed their daily schedule of rituals at major temples.
