Saturn shines brightest May 10, 2014

Astronomers said that the planet will shine its best on this day as it will reach opposite to earth from the sun to the point in its orbit.

The rings of the Saturn did not appear very beautiful before 2007 because they had not assumed their edge-on orientation for several years.

But, now the rings of this planet are very appealing because they are displayed at such a gratifying tilt that they visually form a nearly unbroken structure.

The Saturn will be visible by naked eye in the Southern clear sky in the constellation Libra.

Sky watchers, who will miss the opportunity to watch the planet, should not feel dishearten as they would get the chance to see it online via live coverage by Slooh telescope, which is remotely operated in the Canary Islands, off the western coast of Africa.

Astronomer Bob Berman said that the stunning details of Saturn's rings will be revealed by Slooh telescope.

"We expect to easily see its fa mous inky-black Cassini division, situated between the A and B ring, where ice-chunks making its rings have been swept clean by tidal meddling from its moon Mimas", said Bob.
