The Eta Aquarids are a meteor shower associated with Halley's Comet and this shower will be visible between April 19 and May 28. It will peak on May 6.
A meteor is small body of matter that comes inside the atmosphere of the earth from outer space and when it comes it contact with earth's atmosphere it becomes incandescent as a result of friction and it appears as a streak of light from earth.
People living in tropical and southern latitudes will be able to witness the meteor showed better than those in northern hemisphere because of the location of the radiant and the time of sunrise.
The radiant is that point in the sky, from where the meteors originate.
"If the weather is kind, then the astronomical forecast for this year's Eta Aquarids display is good," reported Discovery News.
