Titanium insect replica to help study bugs - Hindustan Times

Debarjun Saha | 17:47 |
Australian scientists have used state-of-the art technology to create super-sized titanium replica of insects. The CSIRO research would soon enable them to handle and examine bugs, some of which are so small that they are barely visible to the naked eye, in large-scale detail for the first time, News.com.au reported.

CSIRO used 3D technology to create a computer-aided design file of exact dimensions and then re-created their replica, which is up to 50 times their original size, using a 3D printer.

However, in coming months the commonwealth agency is hoping to replicate bugs anatomy down to the minute detail.
